These are vacation times in Sweden, and during vacation you usually get the most crazy ideas. While driving to IKEA one day Elin and Fredrik started discussing the possibility for organizing a local Twestival event for Karlshamn. Twestival is a global charity event where people crowdsource around a common goal at more or less the same time in more than 200 cities. When they got home they started fishing around for more people to help and quickly found two more soul mates in Lisa and Danish. Last week they all sat down and started planning the event in more detail. You will find out what they cooked up very soon! Until then, here’s a short presentation of the people organizing “Twestival Local 2009 Karlshamn”:

Fredrik Broman — @frebro
Värmland boy who grew up in Lund and moved to Karlshamn for studies at BTH back in ‘01. He now works as a designer and developer at Avalon Enterprise in the big red brick buildings down in the harbour.
He also worked a year and a half in Stockholm where he helped found Tweetmeetup Stockholm – a way for online friends to meet face to face in improvised parties.

Lisa Enckell grew up in the lovely town of Karlshamn. Now she lives in Stockholm where she studies Business and Economics and works as a junior consultant at Trimedia. She has been at Trimedia since 2007 and is greatly interested in social media and online communication.
Beginning this fall she will start her studies at the Masters programme of Business and Economics, Marketing and Media Management at the Stockholm School of Economics.

A boy from stockholm who moved to Karlshamn for studies at BTH in ‘06. He recently finished his degree in Digital Media and is currently searching for a job as an art director or project leader. He was one of the guys who made the Baltic Festival website for 2009.
Danish has been actively working for the students’ social group, throwing several events och parties since ‘07. He’s very experienced with creating events.

Elin Jensen — @elinj
Grew up in Småland and later moved with her parents to Lund. After studying in Kristianstad to become a teacher she moved to Karlshamn and started working for ABM Blekinge where she led the project of celebrating the 350 years since the Roskilde peace. Today she works for Kreativum, managing visitors and company delegations.
She continues her studies about learning with IT and social media at KTH and BTH and is currently leading a communal project that investigates how we can use IT and social media for public services.
